Junior Volunteer at the Coronado Public Library

As Miss Pre-Teen California International 2024, I’ve been fortunate to have many wonderful experiences, but my time as a Junior Volunteer at the Coronado Public Library this summer stands out as one of the most rewarding. I had the chance to work alongside the incredible library staff, and I am beyond grateful to Ms. Natalie, Ms. Tara, and everyone at the library for giving me the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful program.

Volunteering at the library showed me firsthand just how much young people love reading. I was genuinely shocked by the number of kids who were so excited to dive into their favorite books. Watching their faces light up as they discovered new stories reminded me of the joy I find in reading and how it brings us all together.

Being able to encourage young readers, answer their questions, and even help with events like the Summer Reading Program was such an amazing experience. It wasn’t just about giving back to the community; it was also about learning how a library functions and seeing the impact it has on people of all ages.

I’m so thankful to the library staff for welcoming me with open arms, and I can't wait to return and help out again soon. This experience has inspired me to keep spreading the love for reading and community involvement in everything I do. If you’re looking for a place to make a difference, the library is a fantastic place to start!

Thank you again, Coronado Public Library, for an unforgettable summer!

Warmly,

Hannah Wright
